1. A meeting of the Financial Stability and Development Council (FSDC) was recently held. It reviewed the state of the economy, including stress in the financial sector.

2. It is the apex body of financial sector regulators. It envisages to strengthen and institutionalize the mechanism of maintaining financial stability.

3. It is headed by the Union Finance Minister.

2. Thousands of traders from the region come to the traditional camel fair.

3. This annual camel and livestock fair is one of the world's largest camel fairs.

Crisis of Social Media report

1. The report has been released by ‘The Freedom House’, an international internet rights group.

2. The report says that there is an overall decline in global internet freedom between June 2018 and May 2019.

3.  According to the report, China is the world’s worst abuser of internet freedom for the fourth consecutive year.

4. Pakistan is among the worst 10 countries in the world for internet and digital media freedom.

Fordow Fuel Enrichment Facility

1. Iran resumed uranium enrichment at its underground Fordow plant south of Tehran.

2. It marks the step back from its commitments under the 2015 nuclear deal. This has alerted the western countries.

3. It is the second Iranian uranium enrichment facility, the other one being that of Natanz.

Bru community

1.  Recently some members of the Bru community have reportedly died in relief camps in Tripura after the Centre decided to stop food supplies and financial support.

2. Bru or Reang is a community indigenous to Northeast India, living mostly in Tripura, Mizoram and Assam.

3. In Tripura, they are recognized as a Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group. In Mizoram, they have been targeted by groups that don’t consider them indigenous to the state.

4. Brus started living in the relief camps in Tripura since 1997 after fleeing from Mizoram.

India Internet 2019 report

1. It was released by the Internet And Mobile Association of India (IAMAI).

2. Kerala's Internet penetration rate is the second-highest in the country (54%). Delhi NCR tops the list with 69% penetration.

3. The Internet penetration rate is defined as the number of individuals aged above 12 per 100 population who access the Internet.

4. The lowest penetration rate was in Odisha (25), Jharkhand (26) and Bihar (28).

5. Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Delhi have the highest proportion of female Internet users.

6. IAMAI is a not-for-profit industry body registered under the Societies Act, 1896. Its mandate is to expand and enhance the online and mobile value-added services sectors.
